COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
When you come in for meetings, don’t forget to purchase your 50/50 drawing tickets.
Sec Paul says if you pay for an Exempt Badge you must wear it to all of
the meetings you attend for that month AND you are responsible for turning in your EB when due – a fine will be imposed if you don’t do either of the above.
Treas Paul gave a brief financial report from last week’s Board Meeting.
PDG Len assisted PP Julio DeGuzman in selling tickets for his clubs fund raiser. All the ‘guys’ were invited to purchase drawing tickets for a shotgun to be raffled off on Aug 20th at the La Jolla Presidents Lions Club 3rd Anniversary Celebration.
Prez Jeff invited IPP Felina, 2nd Veep Mike Raney, Lion Bob Acker and PP Ray Hackworth to the podium to present each with their tenure chevrons – Felina and Mike 10 years, Ray 35 years and Bob 45 years.

PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS: A New York attorney representing an art collector called his client with good and bad news. The client said good news first – “your wife just purchased some art for $5,000 which could be worth $5-$20 million in a few years” and the client was pleased that his wife was such a good businesswoman. The client then asked for the bad news to which the attorney replied “the artwork is photographs of you and your Secretary!”.
