Liz Peters El Cajon PD PERT-Psychological Emergency Response Team and her partner Officer Brian Romero.

PERT is a non-profit contracted through the County and the 72 clinicians throughout the County work with policing agencies, hospitals, etc. handling mental health calls.  They work with children all the way to seniors responding to calls from law enforcement.

Working as a team, Brian assesses a scene to ensure it is safe for Liz to deal with the person in crisis and she refers to him as her ‘protection’.
