Good or the Order:  Dick Nasif brought up the possibility of changing our seating back to the  arrangement we used on the dance floor – Pro: good for speakers using visuals  Con: not as good for socializing.  What do you think?  Let Lion Dick know before the next Board Meeting.

PROGRAM:

Former Padre Mark Grant Mark is a delightful and humorous speaker but very informative on the status of the Padres.  This year marks his 24th season doing the Padres baseball on TV.  As an FYI Mark was drafted ahead of Tony Gwynn back in the day. The team is doing well so far and felt this is great timing for Manny Machado to come to the Padres.  For those who don’t know Manny was a free agent this year, he is 26 years old and is a strong 2-position player who the Padres have signed for a $300 M 10 year deal).   Mark’s comment on the salary is “you don’t get what you deserve – you get what you negotiate for”.  Mark is as tired as the rest of us that the Padres have been a doormat for the other teams.  He expects the Padres will have one of the best infields in the game this year, the bull pen is very strong and expects we will score more runs this year.  Keep an eye on Wil Myers this year – he has a new “hair system”.

As for the subject matter advertised for Marks speech of “Sex After 50” he explained how!
