JoAnn presented PP Gary Sims with a membership ke4y award for bringing in 2 members who have remained for a year.  Keep up the good work Gary.

 
 

.Treas Paul T  updated us on the clubs finances and we’re right on target with the budget.

.Sec Paul W gave an update on our service activities and our club was #1 in the world for number of people served per member which equates to 895 people per member.  Also we have completed 181 service activities and put in 14,143 volunteer hours.  Our club alone served about 50% of what our entire District, of approx. 60 clubs, accomplished with 63,520 people served.  These statistics are for the last fiscal year ending June 30th, 2019.  Congrats members on your SERVICE to our community!

Van Willsey 1/19 and Skip Kiefer 1/20.  In Skips absence PP Van had to endure the Happy Birthday Song sung in the tempo of the death march.  Perhaps there was a message there!

 
 

EXEMPT BADGES: PP Grant Thiem Jr, and Prez Chris at $200 each and PP Tom Hoban who generously donated to our Foundation with $1,000 in memory of PP Jerry Hollingsworth (RIP) and $1,000 in memory of PP Hugh Cowan (RIP).

 
 

GOOD CHEER:  We are saddened at the passing of PP (1968-69) Jerry Hollingsworth (Jan 6, 2020) and send our heartfelt condolences to his family.  A Celebration of Life for close friends and family will be held on Jan 18th at Singing Hills Resort 2-5PM.

Also more sorrow on the passing of PP (1977-78) Hugh Cowan (Dec 16, 2019).  A Celebration of Life will be held on Jan 19th at Fredericka Manor 183 Third Ave, Chula Vista 10:30AM.

Membership Chair Cathy Bailes: Is pleased that we’ve had some great visitors and hopefully all will return and become members.

 
 

PP Ray’s Ramblings:  Note: Someone gave PP Ray a Jokebook so he won’t run out of humor.

A man on his way to a pub spotted a large dog with a man near him.  He asked the man if his dog bites and the man said no.  The dog bit the pub-going man and he yelled to the man with the dog “I thought you said your dog doesn’t bite” to which the other man replied “My dog doesn’t’ bite but this isn’t my dog.”

Paul W $5 for San Diego Aztecs basketball team

Van $20 or $40 Elisabeth made him some pumpkin bread and for his Birthday

Ed $10 had a great time over the holidays as the Grinch and says the Padres have hired him for the winter season.

Bill S $1 Happy to be sitting next to Kiley

Bonnie $5 Thanked everyone for helping with the bell ringing and said we brought in %627 on Friday and $891 on Saturday.  Good job everyone!

Cathy Bailes $20 for PP Jerry H and the wonderful memories she has of him and…Prez Chris lost the Lion (apparently that is debatable as attested to during their discourse at the meering).  Prez Chris said the Lion is safe in the trunk of his ‘other’ car.

Bruce $20 Elisabeth gave him some cookies.  Pat is home after her surgery last week and doing great.  Their daughter came to CA to help out while Pat is recuperating.

Kiley $20 Just returned from ice fishing.  Said the weather was a “balmy” 10 degrees one day and minus 15 degrees the next.

Mike R $?  About PP Hugh – nice thoughts

Phil S $5 attended the San Diego Kings basketball game last weekend and The Kings beat the other San Diego team.  He was happy to support Lion Abraham and the team.

Bob Acker $30 after netting out some major expenses from his $51 50/50 win last week.

Gary Sims $20 played a trifecta at the casino and won BIG plus gave $50 for PP Ray’s Ramblings.
