HELEN KELLER QUOTE by PP Bruce Boorman: “Unless we form the habit of going to the Bible in bright moments as well as in trouble, we cannot fully respond to its consolations because we lack equilibrium between light and darkness.”

Tonight our club level Student Speakers Contest was held so no other business of the club was done.

Student Speaker Chair Paul Walters once again garnered a terrific group of LEO Club Members from El Cajon Valley HS. And something we’ve not seen before two of the speakers completed their speeches using no note cards, which they are entitled to use, and one speaker had a couple of cards but rarely used them.

Winner was Masar Shakir a Sophomore and runners up Rita Abdulmasseh and Sarah Shakir both Seniors. Masar thanked his sister Sarah for all her help in getting him prepared for his speech.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Bob Moreau 2/1, Gary Robinson 2/8, Jim Nelson 2/10. Henry Coleman 2/11, Kiley Grunstad 2/13, Jeff Winters 2/19, Ray Ridlon 2/21, George Hurst 2/23, Ron Black 2/24, Mike Raney 2/28

GOOD CHEER: Our hearts are saddened at the loss of PP Marge Nelson who passed away on February 1, 2020. Prez Chris had us honor her memory with a minute of silence.

A Celebration of Life is in the planning.
