ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER:

President Rob represented our club very well during his ‘turn’ at the podium at the El Cajon Citizen of the Year luncheon.  There were approximately 100 people in attendance and the majority of service club members (between Lions and Rotary) were from our club.

Twenty-one (21) of our club members and one guest attended the Feb 7th luncheon honoring Richard Agundez Jr as the 2022 El Cajon Citizen of the Year.  A truly deserving and gracious gentleman we hope to have soon as a program speaker.

When Pres. Rob discussed our Board approval of a $1000 donation to the Singing Hills Little League for a Gold Sponsorship, more members felt the urge to donate to the cause for a grand total of $1200. The next level up is the $1,500 Platinum Sponsor.  For the Platinum Sponsor, banners are posted on EACH field rather than on a select field under the Gold Level.  Thanks to all who ‘bought’ into this donation.  It will be great publicity for our club in the community.

Amanda Stills, ECPD Police Services Officer, told us about the PD Citizen Academy.

The classes are held at the ECPD building with 25-30 people per class.  Classes are held in April, July, and October.  One option is a 5-class series on Wednesday evenings from 5-9 PM, including dinner.  Another option is a Saturday class which will be the weekend after Easter from 7:30 AM to 5 PM.  Both options include a 4-hour ride-along.  Participants will be exposed to the communications center, investigation unit, and several more.
