COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:

.Sec Paul W reported that the Lions Gift of Sight event is on Oct. 19th, 9 AM-2 PM at B&GC of S.D. 1430 D Ave, National City.

.Our LEO Club was a great help at our pancake breakfast and due to their assistance, we will pay their rent on a popcorn machine to be used at the ECV HS Homecoming game, a fundraiser for the club.

.PP Chris noted that he and PP Bob Moreau have visited PP Ray Hackworth and encouraged other members to do the same.  For more info, please get in touch with Chris or Bob.

.Treas Paul T reported on our finances from the board meeting – Assets are just under 48K, the Activities Account is over 11K, and the General Account exceeds 36K – we’re healthy!

VICE PRESIDENTS REPORTS:

1st VP Ron Nevels: Pancake Breakfast Chair PP Don Anthony said our event was successful and Treas Paul T reported our 3X net income was $4,655. 

2nd VP Bob Sanchez: Student Speakers Contest Chair PP Yvonne Paris reported that our club’s SS Contest will be held Sat, Feb 8th 10-2 at ECPD Comm. Room.  Encouraged members’ sons/daughters or grandchildren in grades 9-12 to participate.  Hoping our LEO Club will also have members participate.

3rd VP Penny Duane: MIA

MEMBERSHIP: Paul Walters: No Report

LCIF: PP Yvonne Paris:   Prompted by Hurricane Helene our Board voted to send $2,000 to LCIF for Disaster Relief.  This donation is eligible for Melvin Jones Fellowships but not for District and Community Impact Grants.
