PROGRAM:

District 2, SD Co. Supervisor Joel Anderson

As a supervisor, he is responsible for and serves over 600,000 residents in more than 50 communities and the cities of El Cajon, Poway, and Santee.  His district covers the largest land mass in the county.  Due to the recent redistricting, there are now, politically, 3 liberal and only 2 conservative supervisors.  That means it’s harder to get the action and dollars needed to properly serve the communities in need.  He has been successful in reaching across the aisle to obtain a 3rd vote to pass important legislation.

He is proud that during COVID-19, he was successful in obtaining funds to assist businesses that had to open and close on the whim of the County Health Department to stay in business. Many businesses ended up closing due to COVID-19, but fortunately, now that things have settled down a bit, a few new businesses are starting up.

Supervisor Joel encourages the youth of our communities to join his office staff as an Intern.  The minimum age is 16 so our LEO Club members are eligible for this opportunity to serve their community.

His parting words were basically – GET OUT AND VOTE!
