HIP, HIP, HOORAY! LION PRESIDENT BILL STURGEON RECOGNIZED LION PP RAY HACKWORTH FOR AN INCREDIBLE JOB ON ANOTHER OUTSTANDING CAMP JACK PROGRAM THAT GAVE 70 AT RISK KIDS & YOUTH AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A CAMPING & FISHING EXPERIENCE.
Lion President Bill Sturgeon opened the meeting at 12:30pm by introducing Lion PP Mark Clifton (and his singing team of Lion PP Gary Robinson and Lion Paul Tremblay) to sing Joe Cocker’s “Bye Bye Black Bird”. Lion PP Jerry Hollingsworth was excused due to a possible broken arm-we hope the injury was not very serious and hope to see Jerry back soon as our much needed official Songmaster. We tried our best to sing in unison—but some of us Lions sounded like a flock of honking geese! Pledge of Allegiance was given with gusto by our visiting Leo’s President and Leo’s. Prayer & Invocation was given by Lion PP Mark Clifton. Inspirational Helen Keller Quote was given by Lion Sharie Hoops “Self-Pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything good in the world”.
