PROGRAM:

Dyna Jones on memory care

Dyna says the best of all worlds in “Aging in Place”, meaning try to live at home as you age.  But stay social, active, and especially be happy.  Be proactive and prepare for future needs.  Ensure your home is safe, remove or fasten down loose rugs, add grab bars, get your finances in order, and ensure you have a support system, whether family or friends.

Financial assistance, such as Medicare or Medi-Cal are available, if you qualify. If you are a veteran there are great programs available and if you are a part of CALPERS they also have good benefits.

Dyna stated that the cost of 24-hour at-home nursing care could reach $25-$30K/month.  Caregivers are considerably less but should be vetted, fingerprinted, and background checks, preferably I.H.S. approved.
