ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER:

.Sec Paul W presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Cathy and Keith Bailes for consistently bringing in used eyeglasses and hearing aids for recycling.

.Treas Paul T announced that he received, on behalf of our Foundation, a $4,000 memorial donation from Nick Forchette for his Mom, ECVH Lion PP Marge Nelson.

Pres. Mike handed off $200 from Carter Short (AKA the late and great J.C.) received from Carter at our foundation board meeting last week as he was feeling badly about missing so many meetings.  Note:  We’re just happy you’re so busy Carter!

OCT 9th – ECVH LC Picnic at IPP Chris’ country estate 1PM

1st Veep Rob Ransweiler: 

Thanks to Dick Nasif for working with the Elks Lodge arranging for our future meetings. 

And so our first night meeting will be Thursday, Sept 2nd 6PM

Our planned Opportunity Drawing fund raiser is on track and tickets will be printed shortly.  We cannot legally sell these tickets online, i.e. via our website.

Membership Chair Cathy Bailes:  Hoping our several recent guests return and become members.

PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS: 

A lady approached her car in the parking lot and saw 4 men in it.  She pulled out her handgun and told them to get out believing they were attempting to steal her car.  Her key didn’t fit the ignition so she found her car and went to the police station to report the 4 men.  They were in custody and when they saw her told the police she was the lady who tried to steal their car at gunpoint!

Ray Ridlon – returned from a vacation  in MD where he saw his Granddaughter in a baseball tourney and was at the Padre game where the shootings took place outside the stadium.

Roger $100 glad to be back from Costa Rica.

Tom Hoban – bought another house but has the Exempt Badge!

Mark C – $100 but why????

Mike Raney – $20 for the 3 Padre players assisting fans at the Nationals/Padre  game, get under cover.

Nancy $20 back from vacation  and called the amount for her sponsor Cathy to pay.

Cathy paid Nancy’s fine.  Then put some $ in the pot for the 24-8 Padre win Friday night.

Jeff Smith $20 has missed a few meetings lately

Tony $100 had a great visit with son Nick in MN
