ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER:

.So sorry to learn of the passing of IPP Chris’ Aunt, Ruth Van Vechten, widow of past member Pete Van Vechten.

.Sec Paul reported the club received a letter from LSH thanking us for our support.

.Pres. Mike reported we will have an opportunity drawing event in the very near future.

.IPP Chris gave a very looooong story about why he should not be fined the remainder of the year.  A letter from Dr. Lowenstein must be in hand to confirm this audacious claim.

.Treas. Paul gave a financial report.

.The club’s board is making arrangements to begin evening meetings again.  Hoping for the 4th Thursday of each month.  More to come as details are finalized.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

GOOD CHEER:

**PP Grant Thiem Jr just had a valve replaced and is recuperating in the hospital, no visitors at this time.

**IPP Chris had a couple of stents “installed” on July 1st. He seems to be healing quite well.

IF you know of any members who are in distress, sick or in the hospital, PLEASE notify PP Yvonne so our good wishes can be conveyed to him/her.  Paris4L6@cox.net  619/838-4262

Membership Chair Cathy Bailes:  No Report

Pres. Mike reported that he has invited Salvation Army Capt. Sam Fowler and his wife Lt. Leah Fowler to a meeting.

PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS:

Two jokes today.  The first one was so short your Editor didn’t even hear it.  The 2nd one was about two men who have lost their wives in a store.  Description of only one was given!

HAPPY DOLLARS AND OTHER NONSENSE: TT Bob Moreau carried the basket todayFlying Money outline

EXEMPT BADGE was auctioned off and the winners were Tom Hoban and Yvonne. $100 each

.As noted in the June 28th newsletter Rob told of Newbie Keith’s son Grant and his prowess as a Granite Hills HS baseball player.  Not only has Grant been a driving force behind his team winning CIF status but he recently won the Home Run Derby at Petco Park hitting 7 out of the park.  Sounds like an upcoming fine to me!  WELL a member’s first fine is paid by their sponsor and  Keith’s sponsor is Jason so $50 was paid for Keith’s story.

.Jason $25 reminding TT Bob M that he hired Jason 25 years ago but as important Jason will be retiring in August.

.Chris $20 No idea what he paid this for

.Cathy $10 for HER Padres.  With 2 losses each to Colorado and the Nationals she wants more ‘rah-rah’ from everyone.

.Bob Acker $100 He and Sue went to the casino recently and won $1,400.

.Gary S $5 Took Acker’s suggestion of which machines to play at the casino but it didn’t work out quite as well for Gary and Gail.
