Ray’s Ramblings:
Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn’t find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, ‘Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place, I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of my life and give up me Irish Whiskey’. Miraculously a parking place appeared. Paddy looked up again and said, ‘Never mind, I found one.’

PROGRAM:
PP Grant Thiem Jr.
JR said he joined the club in 1982 and was Pres. in 1986-87. He grew up in Lions as his father, PP Grant Sr, was also a member of this club. He told the story about the club’s ill-advised decision to sell hot dogs at a Mother Goose Parade only to realize, after preparing them to sell, that their location was along 2nd Street (the half mile of fast-food restaurants) and couldn’t even give them away (actually sold 7) – lesson learned! He also talked about the good times he’s had in Lions, going through the ‘chairs’ to his presidency, and the memories he’s enjoyed at events, international conventions, and doing good for his community.
