Secretary Paul Walters inducted Newbie Dave Schwab with PP Yvonne standing in for Dave’s sponsor PP Tony Forchette (in his absence).  Dave gave a brief bio saying he retired from Solar Turbines about 6 years ago.  He attended LSU before coming to CA.  Dave is a husband, father of 3 and has a grandchild.  He is also an Elk with El Cajon Elks Lodge 1812.  Dave has the distinction of being our 65th member.

GOOD CHEER: 3rd Veep Keith MacArthur recently lost his father.  Condolences to Lion Keith and his family.

PP Ray Hackworth took a fall in the shower and is currently recovering at Sharp Grossmont.

Let’s keep Keith and Ray in our prayers.

CALENDAR OF UPCOMING EVENTS: 

June 4th – District 4L6 Lions Learning Day 10:30AM – 2:30PM at Foothills Church, 365 W Bradley in El Cajon.  A light lunch will be served.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORTS

1st Veep Rob Ransweiler

PP Yvonne reported on Lions Camp Jack 2022 to be held July 3-8 at Whispering Winds in Julian.  She encouraged anyone who knows of a deserving youngster to please pass on the information for sign-ups.  This year there will be a Jack Wyatt Day at the Lake on Wed July 6th, for all Lions to attend to show the campers who we are.  There will be events for the campers in addition to a BBQ and fishing.  Any member of this club who wishes to volunteer to help the campers with their fishing experience please see Lion Ron Black for signups.  If anyone has questions about Camp Jack please see PP Yvonne.

2nd Veep Carl Ruiz:  

PP Chris reported on the Eyeglass Program.  He delivered a newly renovated SPOT machine to the Mt Empire School District recently so all 3 machines are out and working good.

3rd Veep – Keith MacArthur:

PP Gary Sims said signup sheets are on the tables for our annual Lions Day at the Races coming up on Friday, July 29th.

In PP Ray’s absence PP Jim Nelson offered up a funny: A guy was at the bar with a drink in front of him.  A 2nd guy comes in and inquires as to why the first guy isn’t having his drink.  The 1st guys say he got fired this morning, left his wallet in the taxi, his dog bit him and he found his wife in bed with the gardener……..then you come in and drank my poison.
