ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER

NOTE:  The turkeys from Grocery Outlet were purchased with club funds, not donated by the store as reported.  The Manager did however deliver the birds to the S.A. freezer for us.

.Sec Paul reported the Melvin Jones Luncheon will be held on January 14, 2023, at the Elks Lodge 11AM – 4PM.  Reservations are $35, send to District Treasurer JoAnne Burke 2910 Buena Vista Ave, Lemon Grove, CA 91945.

PDG Len presented Pres. Rob with a Key Award for sponsoring 2 new members who have reached their 1-year mark as members.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Dec 16th – ECVH LC and ECV HS LEO Club to tape boxes and pack them with food 4-7PM @ Tom Hoban’s business 215 W Lexington, El Cajon

Dec 17th – ECVH LC to deliver the filled Christmas boxes & a turkey 8AM-11AM

DEC 19th – Next regularly scheduled Meeting 12-Noon Elks Lodge

.PP Phil Smith reported on our upcoming Christmas Dinner/Party.  6PM start for social hour, a few protocols to get the event started, dinner at 6:30-ish and then The Grinch, balloon lady, a Sweater Contest and SANTA.  If you bring a child please also bring a wrapped gift for the child and put their name on it.

.PP Bob Moreau reinforced prior information on our Christmas Basket Program.  Food pickup will be handled by a few members and taken to Hoban’s business for packing up on the 16th. We have 3 members who will make phone calls to food recipients so they know when to expect the deliveries on Sat 12/17 in the morning.

DECEMBER EXEMPT BADGE:

Van Willsey, taking a 10-day vacation to see his daughter then on to Nashville; Mark Clifton, retiring; Roger Stebleton, ??;

Ed Waymire, has 50 gigs as The Grinch (and just to think he got his start with our Club).  All paid $100. Chris Bramwell is exempt through Jan 31, 2023.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  TT Bob “Hatchet Man” Acker with funds collected for our servers to be presented to them at our Christmas Dinner Party.

BirthDay Fines and a few Happy Dollars but most gave $10-$20 with a $50 thrown in by Chris.

The total was $617 until the club agreed to have the Exempt Badge income included so the final amount for our servers is $1,017.

Thanks to all our generous members for showing our thanks for the great service provided by our special servers from Rita’s Catering.

WINNER OF OPPORTUNITY DRAWING: Bob Sanchez $80 and a nice basket of goodies donated by Jeff Smith’s wife Kathy
