ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER

.Treasurer  Paul T gave a report on our financial health for the period and current quarter ending 10/31/2022.

.Pres. Rob and PP Phil Smith shared some Xmas Dinner-Party details.  Cost to the club has increased $10pp up from $27pp.  Members and one guest are paid by the club and children are free.  Adult non-member guests will be paid for by the inviting member. Cost for an in-room bartender is $200 and PDG Len offered to cover that cost.

.Pres. Rob presented two of our members with their tenure chevrons: PP Tom Hoban 40 years of service and Lion Bob Acker 50 years of service

.  Thanks to these great Lions for all their dedication and service.

GOOD CHEER: Cathy & Keith Bailes are in Colorado to visit Cathy’s brother in the hospital and they contracted Covid while there.  They will return home when they are released for travel.

NOV 21ST – DARK/NO MEETING  SEE YOU ON THE 28TH

Dec 15th – ECVH LC Annual Christmas Dinner/Party 6PM at Elks Lodge. Ugly Sweater contest

Dec 16th – ECVH LC and ECV HS LEO Club to tape boxes and pack them with food 4-7PM

Dec 17th – ECVH LC to deliver food baskets as necessary – others will be picked up at S.A. 8AM

.PP Bob Moreau reports that he is having issues getting the food necessary for our Christmas Baskets with acquiring the turkeys being the most difficult.  If push comes to shove Bob will ask members to shop for a few birds themselves and deliver them to the Salvation Army freezer. He will notify the membership if that assistance is required.

PROGRAM

Mike Brandenburg ED Lions Optometric Vision Clinic

The LOVC is located on Upas and shares the same building with the Blind Community Center.  The LOVC provides, at a cost, eyeglasses for all ages, children to seniors.  They have 4-5 volunteer optometrists on call for testing so appointments are required. 

Their annual budget is $90,000 with $10,000 coming primarily from 3 clubs In District.4L6. Other funding is from the community at large.

Prior to the pandemic LOVC served appox. 1200/year and during Covid their clientele dropped to approx. 400/year and this year nearly 600 clients so far.
