PROGRAM:
Carol Sing and Michella Thomas.
Carol swam the English Channel at 58 years old and has become a mentor for ocean/distance swimmers in San Diego.
Michella graduated from UCSD as a mechanical engineer. She swam the English Channel in June 2021 in 14 hours-27 minutes.
The Channel has cold water, strong currents and tide shifts to her mantra was ‘plan your swim and swim your plan’.
Much preparation takes place even before the actual swim. Michella’s first channel swim was the Lanai Channel although she did swim to Catalina in 2013 in 14 hours-20 minutes.
