5 Leos will be going to the Lions International Float Building on December 13th

Five meals are allocated for the International Float Decorating Contest.

Any participants wanting to go are to send a check for $40 to the treasurer by December 1st for the trip.

2nd VP Grant Thiem III: ___Chris Bramwell had no update on the Eye Glass program. _____________________________________________________

3rd VP Kat Zeman: Xmas Baskets

The club provides Christmas baskets to 80 families, each requiring a turkey and three boxes of food

Mark Clifton reported that all food had been ordered at Grocery Outlet in El Cajon.

Tom Hoban has agreed to buy 80 turkeys from Grocery Outlet. All boxes will be assembled at the Hoban Management Site on December 19th

Bob Moreau: Pies will be sold for $100 each to fund the Christmas basket program.

 Participants were to order pies by raising their hands during the meeting.

13 pies were ordered. Members again ordered a pie at the next meeting.

Pies will be delivered on December 15th

Phil Smith reported: The holiday party is scheduled for December 9th at 6 p.m.

There is no cost for members and the first adult guest; $25 for additional guests, and kids are free.

It was decided that Santa Claus would be present at the party.

Live entertainment will be provided by Evans and others, including past President Kiley Grunstad’s daughter.

We had a board meeting on Thursday night, and at the board meeting, we went over the October financials, which were now four months into the year.  (meeting minutes included)

  1. San Diego Juvenile Court Schools.  Kara Wilson follow-up
  2. Because she talked about the different needs of her program, and that they needed 
  3. Well, one of our members, after meeting, came to me and asked me if I would write a check for $5,000.
  4. He would give the funds for it.

  1. El Cajon Citizen of the Year Nomination: Sec. Paul made a motion to nominate Dyna Jones as our candidate for the El Cajon Citizen of the Year, seconded by PP Don Anthony; motion carried.
  2. Christmas Baskets: PP Mark Clifton reported that everything is moving perfectly.
  3. Funding Request Canine Companions: Denied.
  4. Newsletter disclosure of monetary information: A motion was made by PP Bob Moreau to remove monetary information from the Newsletter and Web page, seconded by Dick Nasif, motion carried..

Other Business 

  1. New District Leo Advisor: Greg Coty.

Membership  (Chair Paul Walters)

  1. Approve resignation of PDG Mercy Walters: A motion was made by                    PP Bob Moreau to approve, seconded by PP Gary Robinson, motion carried.
  2. Approve Membership application for Madelyne Nation: A motion was made by Paul Walters to approve, seconded by Dick Nasif, motion carried.
  1. Leo Club membership: Sec. Paul reported he has no access to the Leo Club information since the Lion Portal was started, and there are NO LEOS registered in the Portal. He met with District Leo Advisor Greg Coty to see if we are still using the LEO 50 form, and he said yes. He then met with Leo Advisor Dyan Jones and had her register in the Lion Portal and showed her how to add Leo Members. Dyan and Doug Davis will pass the Leo forms to the Leos, once returned, the Leos

will be added to the Leo Roster.  

Vice President/Committee Reports     

    1st VP Penny Duane    

  1.   PP Don Anthony wanted to know what is planned for the Installation of Officers. Sec. Paul asked Penny if she is going to the LI Convention or USA/Canada Forum, she said no. So Don said the option is to have it at the Elks or an outside venue. 

    2nd VP Grant Thiem III 

  1. Social Services (Chair PP Chris Bramwell): Nothing to report.
  2. Student Eyeglass Program (Chair Chris Bramwell): Nothing to report.
  3. Programs (Chair GTII): Grant reported he has speakers for Nov. 24th, and Dec. 1st.                 

    3rd VP Cathy Zeman  

  1. Cathy reported she is working with the Chairman of the Christmas Baskets and Christmas Party.   

LCIF Coordinator (PP Yvonne Paris)

        1. Nothing to report.  

Good Of The Order

  1. Dick Nasif reported we are paying the ELKs for the white storage cabinet ONLY; we need to clear out our stuff from the Elk’s wood cabinet. The              Lion-Tamers will take care of it.   
  2. Paul Tremblay wanted to know if we can help with eyeglasses for the children of the San Diego Juvenile Court Schools. 
  3. Paul Tremblay reported Jay Jacobson needs to start paying for lunch at future

meetings. PP Don will talk with him. 3rd VP Grant said he would pay for the next 3 months.

  1. Paul Tremblay reported that we will not be making dinner placemats in the future.
