Ken Brassell spoke of his involvement with the Patriot Guard Riders. They are predominantly motorcycle riders, carrying American flags, who escort deceased veterans to their burial sites. They will also escort families from home or the mortuary to the cemetery. Ken has ridden in 1644 funerals in 49 states. There are over 400,000 Patriot Guard Riders across the United States.
Ken also spoke of the FORBS, Fraternal Order of Real Beard Bearded Santa, now known as San Diego Santas. They find kids who aren’t going to receive anything for Christmas. They provide 4 gifts and gift cards for each such child and go directly to their homes, in their Santa attire, always surprising the child. The Santas will go on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.
On Sept 10th the Santa’s will hold a fund raiser at the Elks Lodge consisting of a chili-dinner, cost is $15 and the money will be used for the gifts they give to the kiddos.
