ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER

.PP Gary Sims introduced Robert Mather to accept our club check to Guide Dogs of the Desert for $5,000.  Robert mentioned that our club has supported this organization for at least 35 years. They are looking for puppy raisers which is an 18-month commitment of in-home basic training.

.Dick Nasif reported that the CCI program is holding their graduation ceremony on Aug 12th at 1PM in Vista.  RSVP to Dick or signup sheets available at the meetings.

1st Veep Carl RuizThe Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser Committee will be meeting soon.

2nd Veep Keith MacArthur:  Cathy reported on upcoming programs

3rd Veep: Ron Nevels:  Warren reported on Lions at the Padres Night in August.  RSVP to Warren OR sign up right away at the meeting.  Park at 6th & L OR take the trolley (free for those 65+) and get off at the ballpark.

Membership Chair Cathy BailesCathy reported that we have 65 members with the addition of Newbie Zach.

.Tom N $? – Told a story from 1962 wherein he played baseball for the Lions but alas they still lost the game but not by as much as before he came to bat
