HELEN KELLER Quote by: Bruce Boorman

“Every optimist moves along with progress and hastens it, while every pessimist would keep the worlds at a standstill.  The consequence of pessimism in the life of a nation is the same as in the life of the individual.  Pessimism kills the instinct that urges men to struggle against poverty, ignorance and crime, and dries up all the fountains of joy in the world.”  Helen Keller book Optimism 1903

PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS:

A man hated his wife’s cat, Mr. Peepers.  He tried many times to rid the household of the cat but no luck as the cat always found its way home. His last attempt was taking it out of town on a convoluted course and dumping it.  He then called his wife and asked if Mr Peepers had returned home and she wondered why he asked to which he responded “because I’m lost.”

HAPPY DOLLARS AND OTHER NONSENSETT Bob “Hatchet Man” Acker

PROGRAM:  Santee Mayor John Minto

John had an interesting work career 3 years with McDonalds, 3 years with SDG&E then onto the SDPD.  John Ran for Santee City Council in 2002 and for 7 years was a council member and continued working the SDPD.  When he successfully ran for Mayor it was time to retire from his law enforcement career.

As for the Covid pandemic Santee followed CDC guidelines for indoor activities but Santee’s restaurants, for the most part stayed open as most have either drive-thru’s or are located curb-side allowing for quick pick-up.  No masks are required anywhere in Santee now.  Civil disobedience was rampant but by imposing curfews things have settled down and is now OK.

Plans are in the works for a Arts and Entertainment District and to be pedestrian friendly.  There were plans for a theater to come back to Santee but the developer went BK.  Now actively looking for another developer/investor.  Two hotels are coming to Santee – one near the 24-Hour Fitness in Town Center and the other further West.

Santee has its own TV station – SanteeTV – broadcast county-wide.
