ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER

.Treasurer Paul reports Lions Tribute Day for City of Hope will be via webinar this year.  Register for the Sunday, March 27th event at CityofHope.org/LionsTributeDay2022.

.LCIF Chair Yvonne says if you make a donation to Lions Clubs International Foundation you may designate your gift to “Ukraine” and it can still be counted toward your personal Melvin Jones status.

.Sec Paul reported El Cajon Valley Lions/LEO Day luncheon will be April 25th at noon.  Details to come.

.PP Yvonne reported details for our 75th Anniversary Dinner Party.  Date is Sun, April 24th 6PM at Singing Hills Resort.  Meal will be Sirloin & Salmon.  Limited out-of-club guests are being invited by special invitation and we are privileged to have Past International President Joe Preston as our Guest.  Attire is business, suit & tie.  Significant others are welcomed and encouraged to attend the event.  Special room rates at the on-site hotel will be available for $164/night, reservation code to come.  Each member will receive an invitation so keep an eye out for it in your email.

Treas Paul gave his financial report which included the good news that the club will buy down/underwrite the cost of a ‘ticket’ to our 75th Anniversary event, from $75 to $50 for each club member and one adult guest.  This should ensure that every member and their significant other can afford to attend.  Is this a great club or what!!!

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORTS

1st Veep Rob Ransweiler

The Committee is working feverishly to ensure the event is a success.  We are fortunate to have Renee Hoban step in to head up the Silent Auction.  Anyone wishing to donate please bring your ‘item’ to Renee at Hoban Management ASAP or the night of the event.  Tickets will be available at the door so continue talking it up with your friends and neighbors.

Katie Zolezzi’s transfer application was approved at last weeks board meeting.  Marie Turkle has submitted her application for membership and guest Dave Schwab has taken an application.

PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS: Ray forgot his jokebook, so Yvonne shared a little ditty about a CNN reporter taking a private flight with a pilot-in-training.

.Carter paid $20 for Ray’s fine for not having his jokebook again this week.

.Yvonne $5 Tattis Jr has managed to break his wrist and will be out up to 3 months.

.Cathy B $5 feels bad for Tattis and today is the first day of Spring Training

.Len $ he and Lenny went to the airshow in El Centro, on their way to the 3rd District Membership Meeting.  They left the base at 2:45 and finally got through the gate nearly 3 hours later.  Apparently only one car at a time was allowed to exit through the gate.  Len had to give a report at the 7PM meeting so he and Lenny had a late dinner, but the report was given.

.Mike R $10 attended the Mountain West Conference in Las Vegas, SDSU lost but a good time.

And another $5 to pay Arnolds fine because Marie’s phone rang during the meeting (he is her sponsor).

.Gary R $ today is National Pi Day (3.14). 

.Bob S $10 he found a terrific deal on light bulbs at Dixieline.

.Nancy $5 happy more women are joining the club
