ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER

**Plans are in the works for our 75th Anniversary Celebration on April 24, 2022, at Singing Hills Country Club so SAVE THE DATE.

PP Yvonne will chair the event and PDG Len has secured Past International President Joe Preston as our guest speaker. 

IF you happen to have any older photos from years past please share them with PP Yvonne who hopes to do a ‘story board’ for the event, i.e. 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s,80s, 90s.

Rey Armstrong shared his bio and some Lions information in his bid for 2nd VDG.  He has two other opponents so it will be a good race.  Voting will take place at the 2022 Annual Convention in Yuma.

1st Veep Rob Ransweiler

Rob reported that flyers will be available at our next meeting.  He will forward the flyers to club members to print out for their use in selling tickets.  Tickets will be ready next week and will be available at the next meeting on March 3rd.  PDG Len has secured $16,000 in sponsorships to date.

Ray forgot his joke book today, so PP Yvonne shared todays ‘funny’.

It was about a gynecologist who changed professions to become a mechanic.

.Cathy B excited to be attending the MD4 Convention this weekend.

.Phil S is still enjoying life, his retirement, and many trips around the world.

.Len also hope Cathy will get the Madres to help the Padres to ‘get going’.

.Keith McA is excited that high school baseball is beginning.

.Rob is also happy about Newbie Bob’s singular vote for one of the Gunsmoke flyer options.

.Paul T he never remembers an International President visiting our club, and for Len’s great job procuring sponsorships for Gunsmoke.

.Marie Turkle is happy to be with us today as she always enjoys the camaraderie and fun.

SPEAKER:

IP President Douglas Alexander  his motto “Service with a Heart”.

The President reported that LCI has already exceeded most of their goals set forth for fiscal 2021-2022.

He said that El Cajon Valley Lions is an LCIF Model Club and that 11 of our members represent    Progressive Melvin Jones Fellows.  We are the only club in MD4 to apply for and receive a Community Impact Grant which was for our downtown park bench.  LCIF has awarded more than $1.6B in Grants.

He acknowledged PP Yvonne for being a Major Donor during the current LCIF Campaign 100, having also participated in Campaign Sight First 1 and Campaign Sight First II and for being the club LCIF Coordinator.

A plaque was presented by President Alexander, from Dr. Jung-Yul Choi Chairperson of Lions Clubs International Foundation to Pres. Mike for our club’s commitment to LCIF.

President Alexander also presented Pres. Mike with the Presidents Certificate of Appreciation to El Cajon Valley Lions, together with his personal Friendship Banner.
