COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The MD4 district is promoting a patch-making program involving all clubs, targeting a 6-inch by 6-inch patch with tactile elements including Braille.
A Lion, Warren McKenna’s wife, has a 12-head embroidery machine ready to produce patches once designs are provided.
Business cards are being printed for various club roles like VPs and past presidents to simplify outreach and promote the club.
We plan to coordinate card distribution to multiple members to avoid repetitive explanations about meetings and activities.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

For the LEO Club. The president and I were there last Tuesday, so it was their first meeting. We need to win them over because they’re all new right now. It’s a new group, and Mr. President and I will do a tag team, so I’ll go there and then he will. It was great for him to help me out.

AUGUST EXEMPT BADGE: Keith MacArthur
HAPPY DOLLARS/FINES: TT __Bob Acker___________________________
| Paul Tremblay | $5 | Padre wins over the weekend |
| Gary Robinson | $5 | Just because. |
| Dyna Jones | $20 | Just gratitude. |
| Warren McKenna | $5 | Phone went off |
| Chris Bramwell | $20 | Did I see a new Mercedes park now at the lion of the year spot a little while ago? |
| Kiley Grunstad | $20 | His daughter’s still at Disneyland singing. |
| Don Anthony | $5 | Last Wednesday, a quarter mile from my house, A fire blew up and we had a 100-acre fire. And I got to tell you that Cal Fire is amazing. I had a complete air show for about an hour and a half, with six or eight of the bombers coming in and dropping retardant. |
| Ron Nevels | $100 | I celebrated my birthday last Wednesday. Thank you. Thank you. And then my daughter told me, “you got an appointment at 7 o’ clock at Eddie B’s”. I said I want to go to get her. She said No, you’re going to go to Eddie B’s. I got a photo with me now; I can’t do that on my own birthday. So I went down there. All my buddies were there. I have not seen my other buddies in about 20 years. He was there. He didn’t bring Oprah. But Stephanie came. Stephanie came. We had a good dinner. And then, on Friday, at one time, a life celebration. My daughters, 1 and 3. But it really was a celebration. |
| Phil Smith | $20 | No. I owe nothing. Let me try this one. I was going to use this money for lunch. Anyway. It’s wonderful to be back spend a couple of weeks out of the last five weeks up in Yellowstone and Teton. I never ceased to be amazed by the beauty and the grandeur of that country. And spent some time in Cody, Wyoming. Wyoming is a great place. Devil’s Tower is a real spiritual place. And then ended up in Sturgis, South Dakota. It’s not very spiritual at all. It’s a lot of fun. And Mount Rushmore is like 20 miles away. And it’s just a beautiful part of our country as well. |
| Joe Crawford | $5 | Chris Bramwell is Back |
| Dick Nasif | $5 | Phone Call during meeting |
PROGRAM: Marcy Haney from
First Promise Senior Care Program
The presentation by Marcy Haney highlighted a new model for supporting seniors to live independently at home.
Independent Senior Care Program Overview focused on maintaining seniors’ independence and dignity
The program targets seniors before they require traditional caregiving or facility placement.
It addresses the gap between independent living and the need for more intense care by offering tailored support.
Marcy shared personal stories illustrating the challenges caregivers face and emphasized reducing caregiver burnout
The program targets seniors before they require traditional caregiving or facility placement.
- Customizable Care Packages and Services were described with a clear pricing model. Services are priced at around $40 per hour, with packages customized based on individual needs.
- Care includes practical help like meal prep, laundry, and companionship without taking over seniors’ lives.
- Longer care hours reduce the hourly rate, encouraging sustained support.
- The program also serves as a gateway to more intensive services as seniors’ needs evolve.
- Community Partnerships and Holistic Support are leveraged to enhance client well-being. The program partners with plumbers, roofers, handymen, and other service providers to address home maintenance issues.
- Caregivers act as trusted liaisons, identifying needs and coordinating with licensed and insured contractors.
- Technology adoption support is offered, helping seniors connect with family and manage finances safely.
- The program aims to relieve family caregivers, especially adult children, by filling in gaps and preserving family relationships.
- Caregiver Training and Staff Qualifications ensure quality and safety. The staff consists of 50 caregivers trained in non-medical care, with optional CNA certification available.
- All employees undergo fingerprinting, DOJ background checks, and state registration.
- A free two-hour training is offered to members to introduce proper caregiving techniques, including safe lifting and medication management.
- The program does not provide medical care by nurses but focuses on personal care and safety.
- The goal is to help seniors stay at home longer with manageable assistance, preventing early institutionalization
