MINUTES: Board Meeting minutes from September 11th were reviewed. motion to approve PP Bob Moreau, seconded by Dolores Galkowski, motion carried.

New Business
- Funding Request White Cane Day: $500 to be a Sponsor, denied.
- 3rd VP Selection: Nominating Chair, PP Bob Moreau reported 2nd VP Penny Duane will move up to 1stVP and 3rd VP Grant Theim III will move up to 2nd . He also reported Cathy Zeman has agreed to be a candidate for the 3rd VP position and he needs a motion to put her on the ballot. PP Roger Stebelton made a motion to put Cathy Zeman on the ballot for 3rd VP, seconded by PP Yvonne Paris, motion carried.
- Food Handlers Certificate: Elk’s kitchen manager, Kevin Roscoe, said Lions & Leos must comply with the same rules as the Elks staff in the kitchen. All must have a Food Handler’s certificate to cook and serve meals. Coleen Owens reported that Kevin can give training to the Lions & Leos with a free certificate. PP Don said he would take care of the problem.
Other Business
- Constitution Committee PP Roger Stepleton: PP Roger read the Core Value: “To Be
Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise to build up and not destroy.“
He also reviewed Robert’s Rules of Order, how to have meetings, and make motions.

- Social Services (Chair PP Chris Bramwell): Chris reported 2 adults were referred.
- Programs Chair (Penny Duane): PP Tom wanted to know what the schedule is for programs. Sec. Paul reported that when Keith was President, he requested the Board not to have programs on the 1st Monday (too busy with BD’s & Exempt badges), and none on Business meeting, only the 3rd, 4th or 5th as appropriate.
- Student Eyeglass Program (Chair PP Chris Bramwell): Chris reported the school nurses will give him the number of students tested and referred in two weeks.
3rd VP Grant Thiem III:
- Grant reported he will take over as the Program Chair once Penny is moved up to 1st VP.
LCIF Coordinator (PP Yvonne Paris)
1. Nothing to report.
Good Of The Order
- PP Yvonne Paris reported the club should buy the poinsettias from Walmart or Home Depot instead of ordering from the Spring Valley Lions Club and having to pick them up, store and water them. The board agreed.
- PP Yvonne Paris reported that we to start thinking about a candidate for the El Cajon Citizen of the Year.
