Mercy Walters:
The Lions Club is a service network of volunteers serving communities in need.
Lions serve local communities and address global causes such as childhood cancer, diabetes, and hunger.
Membership in Lions is by invitation only, and the Gina has accepted the invitation.
You have been invited to become a member, and we are happy and proud that you have decided to accept membership in this club.

You are about to become a member of the world’s largest service organization with more than 1.4 million members, 49,000 clubs, in 200 countries and geographical locations.
Our motto is we serve, and as you progress in lionism, you discover the great satisfaction that comes from sharing in our efforts.
I charge you with the responsibilities of living by the Lions Code of Ethics, being regular in attendance at meetings, participating in club service activities, and paying your dues promptly.
I charge the El Cajon Valley Host Lions Club and your sponsor with the responsibility of seeing that you receive an orientation and that you’re involved in the club’s activities and committee assignments.
Gina, I would like to ask you to raise your right hand.
