COMMUNICATIONS/ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Lion Secretary Paul W. reported that with the Holidays just around the corner, the Salvation Army (SA) is starting to sign up volunteers to work the Angel Tree that will once again be in Parkway Plaza Mall in El Cajon. The dates begin Friday November 29th until Wednesday December 18th. There are three different three hour shifts each day beginning at 11:30am each day. Contact Lion Boni or Lion Paul if you want to volunteer. PP Ray Ridlon gave the group an update on his health and on-going treatments as he continues on the road to recovery. The SA Bell Ringing is scheduled for Saturday December 14th at the same WalMart location on Los Coches Road. There are still several time slots available. PP Len provided some background on the projects funded by our CLUB’s Foundation with matching funds provided by the LCIF Foundation in many cases. Our President Lion Chris excused himself during the middle of the meeting, while standing at the podium, an unprecedented move, to take care of some car business on the phone. His EXEMPTION BADGE  paid huge dividends to get out of that jam. The CLUB Christmas Party is Tuesday, December 17th @ 6:00 pm at the normal meeting room here at the ELK’s Lodge in El Cajon. Wear your best Ugly Christmas Sweater and bring along a wrapped toy for your kids or grandkids with their name prominently displayed for Santa to hand out at the end of the evening.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

HAPPY DOLLARS:

PP Mark Clifton had fun at the parade with his granddaughter… Lion Capt. Rob put in a Happy $10 for a good time at the Parade driver a vintage ECPD Patrol Car and for having  not being able to make the bellringing in December….Lion Dick Nasif put in a Happy $5 for Presidents Chris Bramwell’s new hairstyle, or perhaps it was the beginning of a go fund me drive for a new haircut…

Speaking of hair, PP George Hurst hair was kind of in disarray after his trip to today’s meeting in PP Tom Hoban’s red Ferrari. Lion Tom said George looked like Einstein when he stepped out of it. Lion PP George out in a Happy $5 for the entertainment value of the ride. Oh BTW, Lion George also found another ride home after the meeting. And interesting enough, Lion PP Hoban also said he failed to notice the large contingent of CHP office’s poised directly behind him in the Ma Goose parade while carrying the Citizen of the Year aboard with him on the parade route…  Lion Doris put in some Happy Dollars for a recent trip to Hawaii… And Lion Bob Acker was happy he spent time reminiscing with his daughter about the time she appeared in the parade, just the other day it or so it seemed, which actually turned out to be approximately 40 years ago when they both stopped to think about it… and that’s the Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth!
