MITCH D’ARLON San Diego Downtown Lions Club and Camp Jack Board Member

Reported on the success of Camp Jack this year.  The last few years have been challenging in that in 2018 Camp Oliver cancelled all contracts at the last minute so the next year, 2019, was a rebuilding year.  Then 2020 brought about the Covid issues so no camp was possible so this year has been a rebuilding year again.  Now that there is such a great camp next year promises to be better than ever, hopefully back to 2 weeks again.

Fishing is and was a big part of camp and Camp Jack is the only camp with a fishing experience.

Mitch thanked El Cajon Valley Lions for not only for their financial support but as much the ‘people’ participation, from picking up and delivering luggage to helping the camper learn about and how to fish.  Twenty-six % of the campers this year were from East County.
