Description automatically generated with low confidencespoke of the beginnings of our foundation with initial funding by PP Bob Hale and his wife Kay.

President Rob gave his farewell remarks with such a big smile to be ‘done with us’ that it was almost shameful.  He sincerely thanked everyone for making his year memorable and for the great accomplishments made during his term.

Next came year-end awards and District Lion of the Year Paul Walters was thanked for his exemplary service to the club.

Prez Rob then presented Treas Paul Tremblay with the club Lion of the Year Award for all his great reports and assistance during the year at both the club and foundation levels.

Next Student Speaker Foundation Trustee Sec Paul Walters presented the Harry Aslan Award to PP Bob Moreau for his many hours of hard work chairing our Christmas Basket Program.

Pres Rob then presented the President’s Appreciation Award to PP Bruce Boorman, in absentia, for his years of service to the club publishing our newsletters and printing our directories.  The award will be presented to him In person.

MC PP Bob Moreau then assisted Incoming Prez Carl to present Pres. Rob with a lovely plaque in thanks for his great leadership and a very successful year.

PDG Len installed our new officers for the next fiscal year:

Immediate Past President                                                       Rob Ransweiler

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE AND THE REMAINING OFFICERS AND PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO SUPPORT YOUR ENTIRE BOARD FOR A SUCCESSFUL LIONS YEAR.

MC PP Bob Moreau then passed the President’s gavel to Incoming President Carl Ruiz.  Although the original gavel had been ‘misplaced’ a substitute was given, and PP Mike Raney had another somewhat larger gavel to present.

2023-2024 President Carl Ruiz thanked the members for their kindness in welcoming him to the club back in 2014 when he became a member of this club.  He looks forward to working with everyone and getting to know those members he hasn’t had the opportunity to work with so far.  He does promise to do the very best he can as our President.

Dick Nasif then presented the newest nominees to become Directors of the El Cajon Valley Lions Foundation: Don Anthony, Tom Normandie, and Paul Walters.  All were voted in by the membership.

Additionally, Pres Carl appointed Keith MacArthur, Ron Nevels, and Bob Sanchez to the foundation board.
