Pancake Breakfast Sunday, October 5, 2025, 8 am to 12 noon
Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
Members to sell or give away 10 pancake breakfast tickets by October 5th.
Members can return money collected from sales to apply to their lions account or keep the money from tickets sold. Money collected from sales of additional tickets sold above the 10 tickets should be turned in.

1st VP Tom Normandie: The pancake breakfast is scheduled for October 5th.
Paul Tremblety is to assist with understanding ticket sales and responsibilities for the pancake breakfast. Members are to sell 10 tickets each for the pancake breakfast, with the amount billed to their account.
PP Phil Smith, I’ve posted something on Facebook about making Lions breakfast.
If you’re a Facebook friend of mine or it’s blocked me already, I don’t care about it.
Please share it on your page, talking about the pancake breakfast.
Yeah, that was a really nice posting you did, and not only did it have a flyer, but it had photos of some of the people who were there.
I’ve seen at least three repostings of what you did.
I don’t, keep it up.

After two weeks off, I don’t know what that coach did.
He was bad-mouthed at the picnic.
And then they came up and shut Cal out.
And they played defense, like an old Aztec team that we used to go watch and see.
And I found out why.
The old coach was in the stand.
Rocky Long.
Rocky Long was in there.
Our old defensive coach was in the stands along with Pumphrey.
And the other $10 is for the picnic

PROGRAM: Sgt. Kevin Mansfield,
Kevin Mansfield has known Coach Rainy since 2004 at El Cajon Valley High School.
Kevin has three daughters aged 15, 9, and 7, with the oldest attending El Cajon Valley High School.
Kevin applied for the San Diego Sheriff and California Farm Day Corrections in 2014, both taking about two years for the hiring process.
Kevin describes Susanville, California, as having a population of approximately 3,800, including two institutions.
Kevin worked the first watch from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and experienced a riot involving 150 individuals during his second watch.
Prison Experiences and Incidents
The speaker mentions working at Centinela State Prison, a level four general population facility, and the release of the Mexican mafia from Pelican Bay prison.
The speaker expresses concern about the dangers of working in a prison environment, particularly regarding gang affiliations and inmate interactions.
The speaker describes a riot incident at R.J. Donovan prison involving multiple gangs and serious injuries.
Assault Incidents and Legal Proceedings
The speaker expresses frustration and concern over repeated assaults while performing duties.
The speaker mentions a legal outcome where the assailant received an additional 10 years for multiple offenses.
The speaker underwent meniscus surgery on June 2, 2021, after a knee injury sustained during an incident.
Prison Work Environment
The speaker’s wife worries every time he goes to work due to the nature of his job in prison.
Inmates have been found with 75 ecstasy pills and 35 cell phones smuggled into the prison.

Inmate Communication Codes
Inmates use children to smuggle drugs during visits, hiding them in diapers.
Inmates can have visits every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The majority of inmates are repeat offenders, with some having multiple CDC numbers.
Disparity in sentencing where some offenders receive less time than others for serious crimes.
Inmate and Officer Ratios
Donovan has 900 officers, and each yard has approximately 3200 inmates.
Each building can have two officers on the floor and up to 200 inmates.
Cells are six by ten feet and can accommodate two inmates.
