ANNOUNCEMENTS/GOOD OF THE ORDER:

.Our “300” Ticket Opportunity Drawing is going great and we’ve sold 243  of the maximum 300 tickets to be sold. Only 10 remain to be claimed for sale/resale and 47 are out on consignment. If you’ve bought or sold some already, pick up some more for yourself or on consignment to sell to your friends and relatives.  WE ARE SOOOO CLOSE!  See PP Yvonne or PDG Len.

.Placemat advertising is under way – See Treas Paul Tremblay.

Money was collected from members for our servers Dean and Marie, to include Carrie also, in appreciation of the great job they do for us every week.  Total collected $960.

.Treasurer Paul T reported on our YTD financial health.  We have assets of $63,000 +/- and the budget is within $100 of predicted income and expenses. 

.PP Bob Moreau said we raised $2K on pie sales for our Food Basket Program and suggested we give a gratis placemat advertising space to Brothers                                                                                                                                                      Restaurant in appreciation of their pie donations to our fund raiser.

3rd Veep P Bob Sanchez:

.Congrats to PP Phil Smith for pulling together a great club Christmas Party.  Dinner was great and the entertainment and special guests were terrific. 

. Food Basket Program:  Members picking up the food were PP Bob Moreau, PP Mark Clifton, PP Gary Robinson, Jeff Smith, PP Phil Smith, PP Gary Sims, Carter Short and Bob Sanchez.  Members preparing boxes and packing them on Friday night were PP Chris Bramwell, PP Bob Moreau, Mike Carleton, PP Mike Raney, Sec Paul Walters, PP Yvonne Paris, Ron Nevels and Bob Sanchez and half a dozen LEO Club members.  240 boxes were prepared for Saturday’s delivery by PP Gary R, PP Bob M, Carter, Mike C, Paul W, PP Mark C, PP Kiley, PP Mike R, PP Phil S, Bob S, PP Rob, PP Roger, Jim Sing and Zach.  Saturday deliveries were made by LEO Club members being driven by Lions and included 7 guests and 7 LEO Club members.

Thanks again to Chair Bob Moreau and his beautiful wife Mary for pulling it all together.  Special thanks to Tiffany and Sharon Dobbins who were also a great help assembling and numbering each of the boxes so each family received 3 ‘baskets’ of food.

All the members were happy today to put money in for our servers Marie, Dean and Carrie.  We presented greeting cards with cash for each to the tune of $960 and they were very appreciative of our generosity. 

PROGRAM:  Lion Jim Sing

Jim graduated from Lincoln High School and worked for San Diego Police Department as a motorcycle officer, as a detective, as a SWAT Commander and a firearms instructor.  SDPD covers 412 square miles.  Jim was ‘lucky” to have received extensive training with the FBI Academy and worked various divisions within the SDPD. When Jim retired there were 1865 officers on the force with funding available for 2200.  Today there are fewer officers and funding remains the same at 2200.  Jim only recently retired, for the 2nd time.
