Announcements/Good of the Order:

PDG Len inducted Newbie Billy BarhamBilly Barham with his sponsor, Mark Clifton, close at hand

.Warren has tickets for the Padres/Giants game on Thursday 9/23.  Contact Warren if you are interested.

.Treas. Paul T gave a financial report for YTD on the club.  Statements went out on 9/2 so if you haven’t seen yours either open your email or contact Treas Paul with your current/correct email address.  The $2,000 LEO Club scholarship money has been disbursed to SDSU where the two recipients are attending this year.  Each member is responsible for selling/donating $100 for the 10 pancake breakfast tickets you will be receiving.  This is a major fund raiser for the club.

VICE PRESIDENTS REPORTS:

1st Veep Rob Ransweiler Rob reported that those Lions preparing the food for our pancake breakfast have a Food Handlers Certificate, as required by the State.  Go to www.AAAFoodHandlers.com then go to the San Diego County link.  The certificate is good for 3 years, the fee is nominal and the club will reimburse your cost.

2nd Veep Carl Ruiz: 

Program Chair Cathy Bailes has lined up plenty of programs but if you have someone you think would be a good program for the club please contact Cathy with the information.

Social Services Chair Cathy Bailes has 2 recipients referred for eyeglasses.

3rd Veep Fabian Vereda:  MIA

PP Ray’s Ramblings:

An old man went in for a physical.  The doctor later saw the man walking with a couple of ‘hotties’ and asked him what he why he wasn’t heeding the doctor’s instructions.  The old man replied ‘you said to get a hot mama’ but the doctor corrected him stating ‘you have a heart murmur and please be careful’.

HAPPY DOLLARS AND OTHER NONSENSE:

Exempt Badges for September: For $100 each Tom Hoban, spent a week going to Idaho then to MX to fish, then to Vegas, has a new fail-proof program, bought a house.    Tom Normandie for a great fishing trip with Gary Robinson and an interesting ‘bear’ story.  Len 59th wedding anniversary this month.  Chris cuz he missed this important meeting and asked TT Bob Moreau to bid for him.  Tony for his upcoming Angel Flight to Washington DC. Tom H said he would match the $500 already pledged making today’s Exempt Badge income $1,000.  Good job Lions!!

Newbie Billy Barham shared some information about himself.  He and Ron Nevels are in business together.  Billy came here from TX but originally he is from here and attended Helix HS and Grossmont College.  He is a Freemason and is a member of the Knights Templar.
