1st Veep Rob Ransweiler:
Treas Paul T reported on the virtual City of Hope Tribute to Lions held yesterday. They have a new fundraising campaign underway and Treas Paul sent in our $2,000 check already. Bad news is that Dr. Arthur Riggs just passed away. He had donated over $300,000,000 to City of Hope but he is also the inventor of synthetic insulin, a major health breakthrough.
2nd Veep Carl Ruiz:
PP Chris reported that 2 of our 3 SPOT machines are in Jamul and Mt. Empire school districts. One operator (Rebecca) has been performing approx. 150 vision screenings each month.
3rd Veep – Keith MacArthur: Progress
Membership Chair Cathy Bailes: Three new applications will be voted on at April Board Meeting.
PP RAY’S RAMBLINGS: A woman walked up to an old man sitting on his porch – he was very happy. She inquired why he was in such good humor – he said he smokes, drinks, eats fatty food and does not exercise. She asked him how old he is and he said ‘67’!
