.Visitation Chair Gary Robinson reported this Wed at noon we are going to North Park Lions Club 12-noon for an Official Visitation.  At least 4 members are required to make it official.

MINUTES: Board Meeting minutes from December 08, were reviewed. A motion             to approve Jim Sing, second by Cathy Bailes, motion carried.

  1. Melvin Jones Luncheon, Jan 14, Elks Lodge, $35, 11AM-4PM. Send checks to   CT Joanne Burke, 2910 Buena Vista Ave., Lemon Grove, CA 91945.
  2. 3rd District Membership Meeting, March 11, Holiday Inn Express, $129 per night, 350 Smoketree Dr., El Centro. Check in Code# Lions 2023. March 10 meet and greet governor’s candidates at the hospitality room. Saturday, Membership Meeting, Pioneer Museum 373 East Eten Rd., Imperial CA 92251. Dinner cost $25. Starts at 5PM. 
  3. Foundation Meeting Jan. 19, Elks, 6PM.

New Business

  1. Funding Request, CA Friends in Sight: Seeking a donation to replace their aging vans. The Board referred their request to the Club and Foundation Gift Giving Program.  
  2. EC Citizen of The Year Voting: 2nd VP Keith reported theEl Cajon Valley Lions nominee, Rich Agundez was voted as the Citizen Of The Year.
  3. Citizen of The Year Luncheon: 2nd VP Keith reported the luncheon will be on Tuesday, NOON, Feb. 7th, $30 person. Members will be charged $12.50, and the Club will pay the balance. The luncheon will replace the general meeting of the club on Monday, Jan. 6th. A motion was made by PP Bob Moreau to allocate funds for four guests of Rich Agundez, second by PDG Len Blottin, motion carried.

  1.  New member Penny Duane wants to be more active and join a committee. 
  2.  Cathy reported the friend of Collen (Carol) wants to join the club.

  Vice President/Committee Reports

    1st VP Carl Ruiz

  1. Carl reported he is looking for the date of the Casino event.
  2. PDG Len Blottin reported the Nomination Committee will be looking for the next 3rd VP.  

    2nd VP Keith MacArthur

  1. Programs (Chair Cathy Bailes): Cathy reported she has a speaker for January 30th.  
  2. Social Services (Chair Cathy Bailes): Paul Walters reported he has sent the policy and procedure to all Board members. Cathy gave a report on the basic cost of frames and lens. The Board decided to set a CAP for eyeglasses for the SS Program. A motion was made by Paul Tremblay to allocate up to $200 without authorization, second by Dolores Galkowski, motion carried. A motion was made by PDG Len Blottin that any amount greater than $200 will need authorization by electronic voting sent by the President to the Club Officers (1st VP, 2nd VP, 3rd VP, Secretary, Treasurer, and Membership Chair), the President will vote if there is not a simple majority, second by 1st VP Carl Ruiz, motion carried. 2nd VP Keith MacArthur will re-write the policy and report to the next board meeting for approval. 
  3. Student Eyeglass Program: Chair Chris Bramwell absent.
  4. Student Speakers Contest: Paul Walters reported he had received the SS Packet finally on Dec. 10, and the venue was set on Dec. 8. SS requests were given to 7 Leos at the Xmas Basket Program, but no Leos have responded. Also, the Leos meeting on Jan. 2 and 9 were DARK. Paul and Bob Sanchez were to meet with the Leos on Jan. 16, but there were DARK. Chair Bob Sanchez, PP Yvonne Paris, and Paul Walters suggested we should CANCEL the contest. A motion was made by PP Yvonne Paris to cancel the contest, second by Paul Walters, motion carried.  

     3rd VP Ron Nevels

  1. Club Visitation. Chair PP Gary Robinson reported he has contacted North Park and Lemon Grove and waiting to hear back from them.

  1. Nothing to report.
